How to give yourself the perfect manicure

  1. Clean your nails with and old toothbrush and soap and remove every bit of old polish.
  2. Soak your feet in warm water for 5 minutes to get the cuticles nice and soft.
  3. Dry off your feet massage them with a rich and deep moisturizer.
  4. Then trim your nails evenly so they are all the same length. Be careful not to cut down the side of the nail which can make them weak. If filing make sure you file in one smooth direction, not back and forth.
  5. Wash your nails again to remove any debris and dry well.
  6. Rub some cuticle oil or cream onto your toes and gently ease back any cuticles then wash and dry your toes again.
  7. Buff your toe nails with nail buffer with two sides, one for filing the ridges off your nails, and one for shining your nails.
  8. Apply a clear base coat using three strokes per nail only. This is important to avoid streaks and lumps. The first brush should be down the centre and then left and right. Allow to dry (be patient!) and apply another layer of base coat - this fills in the ridges and makes the polish look nicer and last longer.
  9. The apply the coloured polish using the same technique.
  10. Finally applying a clear top coat will help you pedicure last longer.
