Get organised!

Time spent freshening up your shoe collection is the "first step" to a more well-dressed you.

Ditching the shoes you never wear and organising the ones you want to keep, will do wonders for the state of your wardrobe as well as your self-confidence.

Here are some tips to help you get started:

Separate and categorise

If you are currently tripping over last season's shoes, purchase a large clear tub with a cover to put them in ready for next year.

Store the plastic tub in a place that is easily accessible should a holiday to warmer or cooler climates present itself. Use the same strategy for sports shoes that you use for various sports at different times of the year.

Take pictures of your shoes and attach the photos to the outside of the shoe boxes.

These may seem a little compulsive but is a great idea for those that have lifestyles that justify extensive shoe collections!

Alternatively try using clear shoe boxes.

Keep your knee-high boots in upstanding condition

Using rolled up magazines or cut up pool "noodles" to keep long boots standing up correctly, saves on space.

Park them at the door

If you have limited shoe space in your main wardrobe, consider keeping the shoes you wear each day in a cupboard or box near your main entrance.

Or why not store all your strictly work shoes at the office?

Hang them

Finally, if you currently store shoes in the bottom of a particularly cramped closet, getting them off the floor and hanging them in over-the-door shoe pouches can also help you see your options more clearly in the morning.
